My struggle is real when it comes to washing makeup brushes!
Over the years my hands have become so sensitive to heat and soap that for the past five years I’ve taken to wearing a household cleaning glove to protect my hands from the hot water and soap that I use to clean my brushes. While companies will tell you to use a gentle, cleansing routine on your brushes to keep them looking good for longer (which is true) – my needs are slightly different as I have many more brushes than an individual user would usually own and I need to ensure that my brushes are clean and hygienic all the time as I use these brushes on multiple people. If my brush is looking a little had-it then I will purchase another one but that’s the nature of my business.
Regardless of your needs, you will need to wash your brushes. Keeping your brushes clean removes makeup build-up and bacteria. Makeup build-up definitely hinders your makeup application – now I’m not talking about one or two days of use but any more than that you start to create lines and patterns on your face that will not be part of the flawless glow you are trying to achieve. The same goes for bacteria build up, if you want a clean complexion – using an un-washed makeup brush will not help you.
